CN Backpackers Hostel
It was fairly quiet most of the time, really respectful people, helpful staff. Position is great if you like to walk or plan on getting metro passes to make your way around the city.

Urban Hideaway
I think that we were put in a storeroom which they had forgotten to clean, only one shower for everyone. We were so upset at the conditions that we only stayed one night and forfeited two nights accomodation money, I also think that a lot of the reports I read before making the booking were very misleading. Coming from so far away,(Australia) we were very disappointed that we did not get to see anything of Vancouver.

This is the worst hostal that you could stay in your live. Personals have not manners, they are always mad.

Urban Hideaway
Owners are friendly & helpful.It is centrally located.Place would need some fixing up(plaster cracked,furniture old)but is clean.Our room was small with 1 window overlooking a cement wall(& is a pigeon haven!)and the other window looking into the computer room!!!BUT THE SMALL GARDEN TERRACE IS BEAUTIFUL...I FINALLY ESCAPED THERE TO HAVE A PEACEFUL MORNING COFFEE!read below...Breakfast is self serve & self make & was quite chaotic as kitchen area is cramped.Plus there were 2 families with kids ...parents did not judge it necessary to tell their children to calm down so it did not make for a pleasant morning experience!!!This plus the fact that they were staying in loft on top of our room and children started running & jumping around early AM...this spoiled our stay!
